How a moving box rental works
You drop off crates before the move. The customer packs, moves, and unpacks. A week or two later you pick the empty crates up, often from a different address than where you delivered them. The details that matter are the two addresses, the two dates, the unit number, and how many flights of stairs your driver will carry crates up.

A booking form that asks what your driver needs
The booking form sits on your product page. It asks "Where are you moving FROM?" and "Where are you moving TO?" out of the box.
Both addresses
Street, city, state or province, ZIP or postal code, and an optional unit number.
Entrance type
No stairs, 1 to 2 flights, or 3+ flights, so you know before you load the truck.
Delivery and pickup dates
The pickup date fills in from your default rental length. Customers can change it.

Rename the rental item to crates or bins, and rename any label on the form.
Moving box rental is local. Add your service area as US ZIP codes or Canadian postal codes, and addresses outside it can't be added to the cart.

Know how many boxes are out, and how many came back
When a customer clicks Add to Cart, RentalFlow compares the bookings on overlapping dates with your Shopify stock. If every package is already booked, the customer is asked to pick other dates. That is how it prevents overbooking.
Most box rental stores sell packages that come from the same pile, like 5, 10, 25 and 50 bins out of 1,000. Put them in a shared stock pool and every package counts against the same 1,000, so a 50-bin order leaves 950 for everyone else. Add turnaround days to give yourself time to clean bins between rentals.
Confirm a delivery and the boxes count as out. Confirm a return, enter how many boxes came back, and flag anything damaged, lost or late. They count as back in stock by the number returned, so your inventory stays honest.
If a customer's move changes, edit the order's dates, quantity or addresses with a reason. RentalFlow rechecks stock and keeps a change history.

A household move can use dozens of cardboard boxes, and most are thrown out after one use. Reusable plastic crates stack better, protect belongings better, and go out again on the next move.
