Introduction

RentalFlow ("we", "our", or "the app") is a Shopify application that provides rental management, date-based booking, and inventory tracking for Shopify merchants. This policy explains what data we collect through the app and this website, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

What data we collect

Shop data

  • Shop domain and Shopify session information (required for app authentication)
  • Product and inventory data (used to track rental availability)
  • Order data (used to create and manage rental bookings)

Customer rental information

  • Rental date ranges (start and end dates)
  • Delivery addresses and ZIP codes (used for delivery zone validation and scheduling)

Merchant configuration

  • Delivery ZIP code lists
  • Form field settings and widget configuration
  • Calendar feed preferences

Website analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to measure page visits. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects anonymized usage data such as pages viewed, device type, and approximate location. We do not collect names, emails, or payment details on this website.

How we use your data

We use the collected data only to:

  • Manage rental bookings and track rental inventory availability
  • Synchronize rental data with your Shopify store
  • Generate calendar feeds for rental schedule management
  • Display your rental dashboard and order information within the app
  • Understand how visitors use this website so we can improve it

Data storage

App data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS). We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Data is accessed only by our application to provide the rental management services described above, and by the infrastructure providers that host it (Shopify, Supabase, Vercel, Google Analytics). We may share data when required by law or to comply with legal process.

Your rights

As a merchant using RentalFlow, you can:

  • Access your data: request a copy of all data we store about your shop and customers.
  • Delete your data: request deletion of all your data. Uninstalling the app deletes your session data automatically.
  • Correct your data: request corrections to any inaccurate data we hold.

Data retention

We retain app data for as long as the app is installed on your store. When you uninstall, session data is deleted automatically. Rental booking and configuration data may be retained for up to 30 days after uninstallation so you can reinstall without losing data, after which it is permanently deleted.

GDPR compliance

RentalFlow implements Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks for customer data requests, customer data erasure, and shop data erasure. If you or your customers are located in the EU or UK, you can exercise your data rights as described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
